What
is the
Music
City
Christian Fellowship?
The MUSIC CITY
CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP (MCCF) is a nonprofit organization of
Christians who support Christian values in the entertainment
industry. It is our desire to help fulfill the Great Commission
given by Christ to reach the world with the message of God's
love and forgiveness.
How did the MCCF begin?
In June 1980,
a group of Country
Music
artists and musicians wanted to honor God with the talents He
had given them by sharing their songs and personal stories of
faith. They came together in prayer and fellowship. They decided
to have "A singin', prayin' get-together" for the
Country Music fans during the annual Country Music Fan Fair celebration
(currently known as CMA Music Festival).
Some 40-50 singers, musicians, writers, producers, promoters,
etc. were involved in the first "Sunday Mornin' Country.”®
The event was so well received that the group organized to do
similar ministries all year long.
Statement of Faith
Members of the
Music City Christian Fellowship must demonstrate a desire to
please God by being Scripture-based, Spirit-filled, and God-led.
The membership is open to all who share in our desire to promote
faith, hope and love in the entertainment industry.
In
what ministries is the MCCF involved?
“Sunday
Mornin' Country”®
Country and Christian Music’s
most
revered performers fill the Grand Ole Opry House, Ryman
Auditorium, or other venues with laughter, warmth and
encouragement as they share their personal stories and songs.
The event offers a highly visible opportunity for nationally
recognized artists to take the spotlight off themselves and
focus on what God has done in their lives.
”Sunday
Mornin’ Country” ®
Booth
Since
1980,
our membership has highlighted the presence of Christians in
Country Music among thousands of annual visitors touring the CMA
Music Festival. Our booth has advertised “Sunday Mornin’
Country,”®
sold
and given away Christian materials, and promoted Christian
performers and their testimonies.
Sunday Evenin' Country
The MCCF
presents a program, similar to “Sunday Mornin’ Country,”®
of
artists’ singing and giving their testimonies at churches,
This event brings
warmth
and ministry opportunities to local sponsoring churches.
Prison Ministry
Volunteers partner with chaplains of prison ministries to bring
hope and encouragement through testimony and song to inmates in
area prisons.
Fellowship Dinners
Fun-filled evenings with themes ranging from Christmas, the
50's, Western Roundups and more. These events offer great
opportunities for believers in the industry to build
relationships and encourage one another in their faith and
careers.
How can you be involved?
By praying
for Christians in the entertainment industry...
From the very first "fellowship meeting" in the book
of Acts,
prayer
has played a vital role in supporting those who minister the
gospel publicly. Your prayers are just as vital today!
By attending our events and fellowship meetings...
You will have the opportunity
to strengthen your relationship with God and other
believers
in the entertainment industry AND you'll have fun doing it!
By joining our membership...
There
is
nothing more encouraging to a fellowship than to have people
involved who are committed. You can encourage us by formally
joining MCCF and getting involved in planning, promoting, and
performing to spread the good news of God's love and
forgiveness.
By supporting
us financially...
In order to operate in the real world,
it
takes financing. The MCCF receives funds from the sale of
economically priced tickets to our “Sunday Mornin’ Country®
concerts, and offerings given during Sunday Evenin’ Country
concerts. Unfortunately, these funds, along with nominal
membership dues, have never covered all our expenses.
The
MCCF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization chartered in the state of
Tennessee
in 1980.
This means any individual or corporation that donates to
the MCCF through one time giving or long-term sponsorship, will
be able to take advantage of various tax-exempt benefits* that
fall under this category.
Additionally,
funds can come from
interested individuals, such as yourself, investing in our
ministries. Through your giving, you and/or your company can
play a significant role in helping us reach the entertainment
industry and their fans with the faith, hope, and love that only
God can give!
*(Check
with your tax advisor to see which benefit applies to you.)
